Music Therapy

Music therapy is an established allied health profession that uses music to address the physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and communication needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy interventions can be designed to improve communication, manage stress and reduce pain, provide an outlet for expression of ideas and feelings, promote physical rehabilitation, enhance memory, and promote wellness.
Individuals who benefit from music therapy may include those with developmental delays, medical needs, and sensory processing disorders. Additionally, music therapy can address symptoms of neurological and other diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
We provide individual music therapy sessions, small group music therapy sessions, creative ensembles, and modified/adapted lessons in voice, piano, percussion, guitar, and other instruments. Care-partners are welcome.
A board certified music therapist assesses each individual prior to the start of sessions to determine best treatment and goals. Therapists are able to work within IEP and ISP frameworks. Collaborative work with other team members is highly desired and helps to frame the goals and objectives.
