Core Philosophy
The Conservatory’s Piano Department offers a comprehensive piano education. Our staff of professional educator/musicians provides individualized piano lessons, and specializes in bringing out the best in every piano student – from beginner through advanced. Our department respects the classical traditions of piano instruction, and offers instruction in a variety of music styles. Understanding that while the piano is a versatile and expressive instrument, it can also be a solitary instrument, we offer a number of opportunities throughout the year for piano students to perform with other musicians in a variety of ensembles.
Piano Department Chair Bahar Soyoz guides each student according to their individual path, fostering curiosity, creativity, and joy in learning. She has taught students of all ages at Bilkent and Hacettepe Universities in Turkey and holds a Master’s in Collaborative Piano from Longy School of Music as a Fulbright Scholar. A passionate performer and collaborator, Bahar joined South Shore Conservatory in 2021.
Piano Department Programs
Private Lessons
SSC offers a variety of piano tuition, including Suzuki lessons, which students can start as early as 3 years old, and private lessons, starting from 5 yrs. View faculty here
Performance Opportunities
Performance Opportunities, Workshop+Recital Series, Participation in certain programs, such as Chamber Music and other performance ensembles leads to more opportunities to perform in a variety of solo and ensemble showcases, etc.
